The Rental Process - 5 Easy Steps!

Many people have asked us "How do I go about renting a scooter?". In answer to that question, we have provided this easy step-by-step set of instructions on how to book your Scootaround mobility rental as quickly as possible!

1) Contact Scootaround.
2) Provide us with the Details of the Rental.
3) Book the Rental.
4) Use the Scooter.
5) Return the Scooter.

1) Contact Scootaround.

Call our Toll-Free number (888-441-7575) or visit our website at www.scootaround.com.

2) Provide us with the Details of the Rental.

Tell us about your mobility rental needs (e.g. vehicle type, destination and how long you would like to rent). Scootaround can arrange for scooters of all sizes as well as both manual and power wheelchairs. If you're unsure about the vehicle that's best for you, view our Rental Vehicles page or simply ask us. Each Scootaround operator is well versed in all vehicle types and will be able to suggest the best option for you.

Scootaround can deliver the scooter to your hotel, residence or cruise ship port. Remember to ask us about arrangements best suited to your convenience.

To ensure you get the right scooter to fit your needs, we also require the height and weight of the person using the scooter. If there are any other special requirements, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

3) Book the Rental

Secure your rental by credit card. Scootaround accepts payment by Visa and Mastercard. Generally there will be two charges on your credit card each time you rent a scooter:

1) If the rental is less than one month away, the full amount is charged at the time of booking. If the rental is more than one month away we will charge either the entire fee or a $50.00 deposit plus any insurances (with the remaining balance being be charged one week prior to delivery - see below).

2) The balance of the rental is charged to your credit card one week prior to the rental delivery.

Due to the international nature of our business all prices are quoted in US dollars.

4) Use the Scooter.

Pick up your Scooter at the pre-arranged location then enjoy it! If we are delivering it to your residence, ensure that someone is there to receive it at the pre-arranged time. If we are delivering to your hotel or cruise ship, you do not need to be there when it arrives.

Remember to charge the scooter at the end of each day so it is ready for use the following morning. The charging unit can be plugged into any standard outlet (we suggest plugging it in overnight for maximum power).

5) Return the Scooter.

For hotel rentals, simply leave the scooter at the hotel bell desk. For cruise ship rentals, leave the scooter at the location where you picked it up -- generally, the lower gangway or embarkation desk (this differs depending on the cruise line and port). If we are picking it up from your residence, ensure that someone is home to receive our driver.
