Located in Orlando, FL, Disney World brings the magic of Walt Disney to life and creates dream vacations no matter whether you’re a toddler or a retiree. Made up of four theme parks –Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom – and two waterparks – Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Disney’s Blizzard Beach – this is a huge vacation destination that you could spend weeks at and still never see everything. For a truly successful Disney World vacation, it is best to go with an itinerary in mind that appreciates the size and scope of the place, and realistic expectations about how much you can squeeze into one trip (although you must make sure to see a parade or two, and the fireworks display over Cinderella’s Castle at least once).
Disney works hard to create a welcoming environment for guests with disabilities and offers a Disability Access Service Card that you can apply for that enables you to skip long line-ups for rides within the park. There are rooms designed for wheelchair users in the resort hotels (staying on resort is a really good idea whether or not you have mobility issues as it cuts down on time getting in and out of the parks, and offers perks such as later access to the parks and special event access). By arranging for a wheelchair or electric scooter rental with Scootaround before you get to Disney World, you’ll have no issue with getting wherever you need to go while visiting the parks.
When it comes to planning for your Disney World trip, Scootaround can fix you up with whatever equipment you need with our unique Meet & Greet service. We can deliver equipment to any Disney World property and have one of our personnel give you an orientation with your rental equipment to ensure that you are completely comfortable using it before venturing into the parks. Call 1-888-441-7575 or email us to make your reservation.
As soon as you walk through the gates of any Disney park, you’re immersed in a playful world of fun and imagination. From your first spin on the Mad Tea Party teacups in the Magic Kingdom to when you spy Mickey Mouse for the first time, there’s plenty of vintage Disney magic to fall for. But Disney World offers so much more than that – there are thrill-rides galore, dining experiences and international experiences at Epcot, and you can go on safari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
If you’re a first time visitor to Disney World, here are four attractions you’ll want to include on your itinerary:
This is just a small taste of everything you can experience at Disney World. The parks span a lot of ground, and to fully explore you’re advised to contact Scootaround to arrange your wheelchair or electric scooter rental in advance of your Disney trip. Call 1-888-441-7575) or email us for assistance.
So long as you display your disabled parking permit from home, you’ll be able to park in one of the assigned accessible spaces at any Disney hotel or resort accommodations. If you’re staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort property, you may find that they offer disabled guests complimentary valet parking. Once you’ve parked at your resort, you don’t need to drive anywhere as getting around the parks is very easy.
You’ll need to show a recognizable disabled parking permit (from any state or country) in order to use the assigned spaces at Disney World hotels and resorts, but once you’re parked you wont really need to take your car anywhere else as getting around the parks is easy (and driving to each park would be more effort than using the transport provided). Some Disney Deluxe Resort properties offer complimentary valet parking to disabled guests.
