Scootaround can set you up with a Universal Orlando or Universal Studios wheelchair rental, scooter rental, or electric wheelchair rental. We’ll deliver the mobility device directly to your hotel, Airbnb, or resort, whether it is on Universal property or elsewhere in the Orlando/Kissimmee area. When booking the order, you’ll be asked to select a drop-off and pick-up time that works best with your schedule. All our equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to each rental.
All Universal Orlando scooter rental and wheelchair rental deliveries are free with a minimum 2-day rental (delivery location must be within 25 miles of Scootaround Orlando).
When the rental is complete, we will pick up the device from your hotel or residence. Call 1-888-441-7575 or email [email protected] to make your reservation. If you're looking to purchase equipment, Scootaround also has mobility scooters and wheelchairs for sale in the Orlando area.
As you’d expect from one of the busiest theme parks in the world, Universal Orlando Resort is jam-packed with incredible rides, shows, and experiences. These range from heart-pumping roller coasters and stunt shows, to eye-popping concerts and 3D rides. The majority of these attractions are based on the world of film and television (this is Universal Studios after all), including popular movies and shows such as Harry Potter, Shrek, and the Simpsons.
If you’re a first-time visitor to Universal Orlando, here are four attractions that you won’t want to miss:
To fully experience everything Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure have to offer, we recommend booking a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or electric wheelchair rental in advance of your trip. Call 1-888-441-7575 or email us today!
You do not need to apply for a temporary permit if you are traveling to Orlando and have a disability parking permit from another state. All disability permits from other states are currently accepted in Florida. A temporary US parking badge is required for international visitors and is good for 90 days after purchase.
You may park in any disabled or handicapped parking space with your disabled placard or permanent disability license plates. These areas should be defined in blue paint and prominently identified with an International Symbol of Access (i.e. Wheelchair Symbol).
If you’re a Harry Potter superfan (or even if you’re not), Diagon Alley is a can’t-miss attraction. This incredible themed area allows you to retrace Harry’s footsteps through London and then enter the hidden Diagon Alley. While you’re there, be sure to purchase your own wizarding wand at Ollivanders wand shop, grab some bangers and mash at the Leaky Cauldron, or check out the Tales of Beedle the Bard stage show.
Diagon Alley is also home to Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, a multi-dimensional thrill ride that is one of the best – and most popular – experiences Universal Studios Florida has to offer. The ride has a modified vehicle that allows mobility users to transfer from their scooter or wheelchair and onto the ride. However, for safety reasons, riders should be able to maintain an upright position by themselves, as Escape from Gringotts has a few quick drops and sudden movements.
This themed area is entirely dedicated to the longest-running animated series of all time: The Simpsons. Fans of the show will be able to explore some of Springfield’s most iconic locations, such as the Kwik-E-Mart and Moe’s Tavern. There are also plenty of opportunities to have your photo taken with some of the show’s popular characters, including Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Bob, and the Simpsons family themselves.
The area’s signature attraction is the Simpsons Ride, a motion-simulator roller coaster that takes you on a wild adventure through Krusty the Clown’s low-budget amusement park, Krustyland. Like Escape from Gringotts in Diagon Alley, the Simpsons Ride has a modified vehicle that allows mobility users to transfer from their scooter or wheelchair and onto the ride.
Interested in something a little more thrilling? Look no further than the Revenge of the Mummy ride at Universal Studios Florida. This exciting, enclosed roller coaster drops you into complete darkness as you attempt to escape the evil Mummy Imhotep. Based on The Mummy film franchise, the ride lets you race forwards and backwards through ancient tombs and, at one point, launches you from 0 to 45 mph in a matter of seconds. Needless to say, this roller coaster isn’t for the faint of heart! However, if you’re a thrill seeker, you won’t want to miss fantastic attraction.
As you would expect from a high-speed roller coaster, Revenge of the Mummy has plenty of sudden drops and quick accelerations. The attraction has a modified vehicle that allows mobility users to transfer from their scooter or wheelchair and onto the ride, and riders should be able to maintain an upright position independently.
The Hogwarts Express allows you to travel between the two different areas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Just like in the books and movies, you’ll start in the famous King’s Cross Station at Platform 9¾ in the Universal Studios Park and then travel across the resort as you check out characters and creatures from the Harry Potter universe. You’ll then be dropped in Hogsmeade Village in Islands of Adventure. The train goes both ways and provides a different experience each direction, so feel free to take the journey starting from Hogsmeade as well.
Even better, the Hogwarts Express is the only ride at Universal Orlando that can fully accommodate mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs, meaning you won’t need to transfer out of your device to get onboard!
Once an event has started, no further pre-reservations will be available. Please see the attendant at the onsite booth location to book a walk-up rental.
