How To Rent Medical Equipment

Bed Rail
Scootaround maintains a large inventory of guest comfort items, including Bed Rails. These comfort items are delivered/picked up directly to the stateroom or hotel room.
The price of this equipment varies by the port city requested.
Bed Wedge
Bed wedges are ideal for use when wanting to raise the upper body while lying in bed. The wedge is placed between the mattress and box spring. The wedges are made of a dense foam with a removable quilted cover.
Fully Electric Hospital Bed
Electric hospital beds have a control that raises and lowers the head and feet, and also electrically adjusts the height of the bed from the floor. For hygienic reasons, a vinyl covered mattress is typically included with the rental.
You need to contact the cruise line to make arrangements for placement of this bed in your stateroom. It may require removal of an existing bed to accommodate the hospital bed. An accessible room is usually a requirement due to the needs of the person needing the bed.
Hoyer Lift
Patient lifters such as the hoyer lift are used to provide assistance in transferring to/from a wheelchair, bed or other areas. As each individual has their own unique medical situation, we ask that clients bring their own sling and required attachments. Our hoyer lifts handle most 2, 4 or 6-point slings, accommodates up to 400 lbs, and is delivered and set up in the stateroom.
The freestanding base allows the hoyer lift to be used wherever it is needed.
Recliner
Get the convenience of a recliner chair for your cruise stateroom or hotel. Recliners are available through Scootaround in most major port cities. Note that not all cruise lines accept recliners. Please ask your cruise line or your Scootaround Reservations Specialist for details.

Recliner - Motorized
A motorized recliner is a three-position, medium-to-large lift chair with a popular split-T back design and a patented smooth and quiet lift system. The overstuffed fiber-filled pillow back provides comfort and support, while easy-to-use hand control and a spacious storage pocket provide convenience and reliability.
All recliner rentals include delivery, set up, removal and pickup.
Trapeze
Trapeze lifts are an assisting, overhead device for clients who need to move themselves using their arms. The freestanding base allows the trapeze to be used in a variety of different locations if needed. It accommodates up to 250 lbs assisted weight capacity.
