Driving and Parking in Port Canaveral
If you are driving to Port Canaveral and have a disability parking permit from another state or country, you do not need to apply for a temporary permit during your stay in the area. Florida recognizes all disability permits from other states and foreign countries. On the other hand, if the driver does not have a plate or permit that displays an international symbol of accessibility, visitors will need to purchase a temporary disabled person parking permit for a small fee Individuals can apply in-person or by mail at a motor vehicle service center.
At Port Canaveral itself, designated parking spots are provided for individuals with disabilities. Vehicles who are carrying individuals with specific disabilities that necessitate specialized apparatus, like ramps and lifts, are exempt from paying parking fees. Fees are also waived for people with Florida Disabled Veterans license plates.

The Kennedy Space Center is a renowned spaceport and launch facility located in Cape Canaveral, Florida. This public park is known for its natural beauty and role in providing a sustainable habitat for manatees and other wildlife. As you can probably guess, the park gets its name from the gentle and graceful aquatic mammals known as manatees, which are often spotted in the waters around the park. These animals are native to Florida's coastal waters and are often referred to as "sea cows” due to their large size. The Manatee Sanctuary Park is located along the Banana River and gives visitors the opportunity to view manatees in their natural habitat. The park features a boardwalk and observation deck that provide excellent views of the water, along with picnic tables, walking paths, and benches for when you need to rest.
